I am entertaining the possibility of signing up for a "talk," but before I get myself into anything too awkward, I would like to request a few clarifications about the format. Your guide says that, "You must take questions during your talk." Every conference I have presented at allows the audience time at the end to solicit questions, which at least gives the presenter a fair chance to make a decent point. I understand the need for moderation at a non-invitation function, lest the open event be hijacked by ideologues, but I just can't quite picture how what you have planned will play out. Please explain it to me. 2. Will there be simultaneous presentations vying for an audience, or will they run consecutively? 3. What security measures will be in place to protect innocent heathens in the event of an infiltration by the Temple Square security goon squad? -CDW
3. I say, bring the goon squad on! Reason and rationality always win over intolerance and intimidation, right? ... Right? 2. They'll be consecutive. However, unless a presenter has a specific point at which they'd like to speak, the order of the presentations won't be determined until the day of. 1. Though the idea is to keep presentations interactive, fun, and engaging, the organizers will do their best to keep tolling from disruptive people to a minimum. Also, while presentations (such as mine) will be built around a much more interactive framework which actively seeks audience participation, others can be more direct and less interactive. That's fine. Think about that "must take questions during your talk" more as "are encouraged to take questions during your talk." In fact, I'm changing the wording to just that right now. Let me know if You have any more questions. I'll keep an eye on this page. -Porlob 21:41, 21 September 2010 (UTC) edit paid for surveysMy begining write up on the portal would like to say hi to all the members. tetris game <http>//www.winprizes.webfreehosting.net online survey] mario online <http>//www.winprizes.webfreehosting.net paid surveys] puzzle <http>//www.winprizes.webfreehosting.net paid online surveys] monster truck <http>//www.winprizes.webfreehosting.net surveys for money] |
